Overview
We are seeking an experienced DevOps & IT Infrastructure Manager (Cloud Focus) with deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS & Azure) and on-premises environments. This hybrid role demands a strong technical leader who can design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions while leading and mentoring a high-performing infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience in cloud architecture, networking, security, DevOps automation, and disaster recovery, alongside proven leadership skills to drive cloud-first initiatives aligned with business goals.
Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure & Cloud Management:
- Architect, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, leveraging services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory, and Kubernetes services (EKS, AKS).
- Manage and optimize hybrid cloud/on-premises environments including VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, and traditional network infrastructure.
- Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure infrastructure solutions aligned with best practices (Well-Architected Framework for AWS, Azure Architecture Framework).
- Lead cloud migration projects, including discovery, planning, execution, and cutover with minimal disruption.
- Monitor cloud and on-prem infrastructure using tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, and optimize performance & cost-efficiency.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and implement backup solutions using AWS Backup, Azure Backup, Veeam, or similar tools.
- Provide expert guidance on cloud infrastructure, security best practices, network architecture, and DevOps processes.
- Drive adoption of emerging cloud-native technologies (e.g., container orchestration with Kubernetes, serverless computing, microservices).
- Lead architecture reviews, enforce standards, and champion infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
- Implement comprehensive cloud security strategies, including identity and access management, encryption, network security (security groups, firewalls, NSGs), and vulnerability management.
- Conduct regular security audits, penetration testing, and compliance checks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks, Cyber Essential+).
- Manage incident response for cloud security events and lead remediation efforts.
- Lead DevOps initiatives including CI/CD pipeline design and implementation using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or AWS Code Pipeline.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Ansible, or Chef.
- Promote monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices using ELK Stack, Splunk, Datadog, or similar.
- Manage and mentor a team of infrastructure and DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.
- Set team objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support career development.
- Collaborate closely with development, security, and product teams to ensure smooth operations and aligned objectives.
Preferred Skills
1. Technical Skills:
- Expert-level experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, EKS, etc.) and Microsoft Azure services (VMs, Blob Storage, Virtual Network, Azure AD, AKS, ARM templates).
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, including VPNs, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, load balancing (ELB/ALB, Azure Load Balancer), DNS (Route 53,Azure DNS), firewall rules, and security groups/NSGs.
- Deep knowledge of Linux/Windows server administration, virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox).
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates), automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Proven hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Strong background in backup/recovery technologies, disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security principles, identity & access management, encryption, vulnerability scanning tools (Qualys, Nessus).
- Skilled in DevOps tools and practices: CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps), source control (Git), monitoring/logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
- Understanding of compliance frameworks: NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks, Cyber Essential+
- Excellent English communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with demonstrated experience in team mentoring, conflict resolution, and motivating engineers.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years in IT infrastructure and cloud engineering roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership/team lead capacity.
- Proven track record managing cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure at
- scale.
- Experience leading cloud migrations, designing cloud-native architectures, and managing hybrid environments.
- Hands-on experience implementing DevOps practices and automating
- infrastructure deployment and monitoring.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant cloud certifications highly preferred, such as:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or related security certifications
